Singer Annie Lennox's royal link to Balmoral
Singer Annie Lennox has visited the ballroom at Balmoral castle where her grandfather, William Ferguson, was invited to dance by the Queen Mother at a staff ball.
William Ferguson worked as a gamekeeper on the estate in the early 1900s, when King George V was on the throne.
Annie Lennox's grandmother, Dora Jean Paton, who also worked at Balmoral in the dairy, was not invited to the celebration but managed to view the proceedings from a balcony.
