Africa Beats: Malian singer Vieux Farka Toure
In the penultimate episode in a series showcasing Africa's musical talent, Vieux Farka Toure performs his song Amana Quai.
Vieux is the son of legendary Malian guitar player Ali Farka Toure. His father did not want him to become a musician, but he was determined and gained his father's blessing before Farka Toure senior died in 2006.
Vieux, who also plays guitar, has taken his father's desert blues sound in new directions and established a reputation as a talent in his own right.
His first album, named simply Vieux Farka Toure, was greeted with enthusiasm when it was released in 2007. He has subsequently released four further albums which were also well reviewed.
He is currently enjoying collaborating with other musicians from around the world. His most recent recording is an improvisation session with Idan Raichel from Israel.
