Jason Statham: 'I don't see myself as a great character actor'
Jason Statham is starring in a new action thriller, Safe, where his character finds himself caught in the midst of a lethal battle between the Triads, Russian mobsters and crooked cops in New York.
The actor told Talking Movies' Tom Brook that there is an emotional element to the story that makes the film different from his other action films.
Stratham is content with the genre and is happy developing his hardcore action career.
"Doing something different is for great character actors. I don't see myself as a great character actor," he said.
"That's not what my strength is," he added.
Talking Movies is broadcast on BBC World News on Saturday at 13:30 GMT and is repeated on Sunday at 00:30, 07:30 and 20:30 GMT.
