British Library acquires St Cuthbert Gospel
A 7th Century gospel, discovered in the coffin of a Christian saint more than 900 years ago, has been bought by the British library for £9m.
The Latin manuscript, known as the St Cuthbert Gospel, is the oldest European book to survive fully intact.
