Tim Roth to lead Cannes Un Certain Regard jury

Reservoir Dogs star Tim Roth will lead a jury charged with picking out new and emerging talent at this year's Cannes Film Festival.

The 50-year-old British actor will help pick the winner of the Un Certain Regard prize.

The award, which runs parallel to the French festival's main award - the Palme d'Or - is designed to recognise films with "an original aim".

The winner will be announced on 26 May, the day before the Festival ends.

The Un Certain Regard panel is traditionally made up of artists, journalists and festival directors and will be announced over the next few days, organisers said.

Last year, there were prizes for Kim Ki-Duk's film Arirang and Halt Auf Freier Strecke by Andreas Dresen.

In January, it was announced that acclaimed Italian director and actor Nanni Moretti will head the Palme d'Or award jury.

Bruce Willis and Ed Norton star in director Wes Anderson's latest movie Moonrise Kingdom which will open the famous film event, held on the French Riviera.
