Residents of the town where Whitney Houston's body is resting before a funeral service on Saturday have been paying their respects with flowers, candles and songs.
The singing star was born in Newark, New Jersey, and honed her vocal skills in the gospel choir at the New Hope Baptist Church, where the private service is due to take place.
Fans who gathered outside the Whigham Funeral Home in Newark remembered her musical legacy.
