Eastenders' domestic abuse Christmas storyline

Eastenders is well known for its hard-hitting story lines - and this Christmas is no different. Over the past few months Zainab Masood has become under the control of her sinister first husband Yusef Khan.

She has now remarried him after her second husband Masood divorced her but Yusef, Albert Square's doctor, is not treating her well and has lashed out at her physically, leaving her scared and bruised.

The domestic abuse storyline is due to come to an explosive conclusion over Christmas.

The BBC's Betty Redondo asked Nina Wadia, who plays Zainab, why her character, who is usually feisty and assertive, has fallen under the spell of a controlling and abusive man.
