Film aims to create a portrait of the nation on one day

Everyone in Britain is to have a chance to appear in a new film.

Called Britain in a Day, it aims to create a portrait of the nation, using footage shot by the public on one day in November.

The ambition is to show everything, from great moments in people's lives to the humdrum activities going on behind the net curtains.

The BBC's Arts Correspondent David Sillito, has been preparing, with a little practice filming himself.
