21 September 2011 Last updated at 16:42 BST

A host of stars will be out on Wednesday night at a concert at London's O2 Arena for a special concert to mark the UN's international day of peace.

Razorlight, dance troupe Flawless and the English National Ballet will perform at the first of a series of three concerts, marking a year long countdown for a planned 'Global Truce' on Peace Day 2012.

The BBC's Jane Hill spoke to Yusuf Islam formerly known as Cat Stevens, and Jeremy Gilley the founder of Peace One Day, about why the day is particularly important.
