Glasgow boys take part in new Matthew Bourne ballet

Help

A new ballet by acclaimed British choreographer, Matthew Bourne, has premiered in Glasgow.

But The Lord of the Flies is a different kind of ballet, with the cast of dancers mainly formed of boys from around Glasgow, many of whom had never danced or set foot in a theatre before.

The production has been a two year project to make ballet more attractive to one of the most resistant groups, teenage boys.

David Sillito reports.
