Jeff Bridges on his Oscar-nominated role in True Grit


True Grit has gone down in cinema history as one of the great westerns, featuring John Wayne at his six-shooting best.

So when American directors the Coen brothers said they were going to make an updated version, they knew they had a hard act to follow.

Jeff Bridges says he was unconvinced about the part until he read the original book. He also praised his co-star, the teenager Hailee Steinfeld.
