John Barry talks about his memories working in cinema
In 1999 Barry spoke about his early memories of working in the cinema industry to the BBC's Steve Massam.
Barry's father owned eight northern theatres, including The Astoria in Hull.
From a very early age he would visit the city and would help out his father in the running of the cinema.
From selling refreshments to running the projector, he was enthralled by the magic of cinema.
