Veteran broadcaster Barry Norman is to make a return to the BBC to present two programmes for Radio 4.

The former BBC Film host, who left the corporation in 1998 to work for Sky, will host Archive on 4's Going To The Flicks on 15 and 22 January.

The programmes will look back on a century of cinema-going, including Saturday morning children's screenings.

Norman, 77, who used to be a presenter on Radio 4's Today programme, left Sky in 2001.

Meanwhile, Absolute Radio presenter Christian O'Connell will fill in for Danny Baker on Radio 5 live in the new year.

The Christian O'Connell show - aired on Saturdays between 0900 and 1100GMT - will start on 15 January and will run until the end of May next year.

Baker is currently undergoing treatment for cancer.

O'Connell has already filled in for him on several occasions while Baker has been ill, as have Suggs and Alan Davies.

"Danny is the very best of the best and is handling his treatment with the humour and gusto you'd expect," said O'Connell.

"Whilst he's getting better, it's a privilege and an honour to look after the shop until the great one's return. Expect great guests and banter," he added.
