Phil Collins tops album chart after 12 years

Going Back was a new entry at number four in last week's chart

Phil Collins is the top of the UK albums chart with his collection of Motown and soul covers - Going Back - 12 years after his last number one.

The record, which entered last week's chart at number four, is his first number one since 1998's Hits.

The Manic Street Preachers, whose last number one album also came in 1998, were a new entry at number three with Postcards From A Young Man.

Just The Way You Are, by US singer Bruno Mars, is the number one single.

Mars also co-wrote and sang on rapper B.O.B's Nothin' on You - a UK number one in May.

Taio Cruz remains at number two with his single Dynamite while Katy Perry's Teenage Dream stays at number three.

Emma's Imagination, the winning act from Sky 1 talent show Must Be The Music, had a new entry at number seven with Focus. Their song from the qualifying heats, This Day, went back up to number 27 from last week's 31.

Italian DJ Alex Gaudino's I'm In Love (I Wanna Do It) entered the chart at 10, and other new entries came from Enrique Iglesias, The Saturdays, Mark Ronson and Charice.

In the albums chart, last week's number one Science and Faith, by The Script, dropped a place to number two.

Hands All Over, by Maroon 5, was a new entry at number six.

Other artists with new albums in the top 40 included Seal, Usher, Santana, OMD and rock supergroup Black Country Communion, featuring Jason Bonham and Glenn Hughes.

Scottish singer-songwriter Paolo Nutini's debut album These Streets re-entered the top 40 at number 32 - making it the longest-serving record in the chart, with a total of 190 weeks in the countdown.
