Park View School denies promoting extremist views

3 April 2014 Last updated at 21:57 BST

The school at the centre of allegations of Muslim extremism has denied claims that extremist views were promoted in a pupils assembly.

Park View Academy is under investigation by Birmingham City Council and Ofsted.

Twelve schools have now been drawn into the inquiry, which follows claims about a so-called "Trojan Horse" plot to take over the leadership of certain schools.

A letter has been sent to every head teacher in the city warning that children have a right to a broad and balanced education.

Peter Wilson reports.
