Extra support to streamline adoption process

An extra £50m will be given to councils in England next year to help recruit more people to adopt.

Ministers say there has been a significant rise in the number of adoptions and adopters, following an overhaul of the system last year, but there are still 6,000 children waiting to be offered a home.
