Gordon Brown launches campaign to help female Pakistani teachers

Gordon Brown has told BBC Asian Network he's launching a petition calling on Pakistan to give better protection to girls and women in education.

It follows the death of Shahnaz Nazli, a teacher who was shot dead on her way to school on 25 March.

The first signature on the petition is that of Malala Yousufzai - the Pakistani girl shot by the Taliban last year for promoting girls education.
