A-levels set for major revamp
Plans to bring back traditional A-levels in England, with exams at the end of a two-year course, have been outlined by Education Secretary Michael Gove.
Under the reforms, AS level papers will not count towards a full A-level but will be stand-alone qualifications.
There will also be a bigger role for universities in monitoring the content of the A-level, Mr Gove said, as many are dissatisfied with the current system.
