What new words were created in 2012?
The compilers of the Oxford English Dictionary have spoken about what new words from 2012 could be featuring in the next edition.
'Dumbphone', 'flexitarian' and 'sillage' are among those being considered but new words must demonstrate a degree of longevity to be included.
Once added to the dictionary, words are never removed.
'Omnishambles', coined by the television series The Thick Of It, has been named the Word of the Year for 2012.
Sophie van Brugen reports.
