Michael Gove: No excuse for poor primary schools

Two hundred of England's worst-performing primary schools will be closed next year and re-opened as academies, under government plans.

Speaking to the BBC, Education Secretary Michael Gove said there could be "no excuse" for under performance and that "rapid action" was necessary to improve standards.

The new academies, taken out of local authority control, will be run by more successful local schools.
