Exeter University to charge maximum tuition fees
Exeter University has announced it will charge the maximum of £9000 in tuition fees for a degree course from next year.
To set the higher fees colleges have to prove that they are doing more to encourage poorer students.
The university's decision follows similar proposals by Oxford, Cambridge and Imperial College London.
Gillian Hargreaves reports.
