(Noon): US stocks edged higher on Wednesday after two days of gains.

Markets awaited the release of minutes from the most recent Federal Reserve meeting.

The benchmark S&P 500 index was less than 0.4 percent from its all-time intraday high of 1,991.39 reached on 24 July.

The tech-heavy Nasdaq was 0.03% lower at 4,526.36 and the Dow Jones rose 0.23% to 16,957.74.

The S&P 500 rose 0.15 % to 1,984.66.

Shares in Home Depot were riding high after positive results on Tuesday.

Shares in the do-it-yourself retailer rose 2.55% to $90.48 after it reported strong quarterly earnings and raised its profit forecast for the full year.
