The Bank of England announces plans for a new affordability test

Bank of England governor Mark Carney has outlined plans to cool the housing market in the UK including a new affordability test.

Carney was speaking at a news briefing for the half-yearly financial stability report,.

The Bank of England's Financial Policy Committee (FPC) has new powers to tackle any threat to the stability of the UK economy.
