ASOS on website shut following warehouse fire

21 June 2014 Last updated at 14:56 BST

A fire which caused an online fashion retailer to cease trading is being treated as arson, police have said.

The fire at the ASOS distribution centre near Grimethorpe, Barnsley broke out at about 22:00 BST on Friday.

In a statement, ASOS said no-one had been hurt.

South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service's Andy Hayter told BBC Radio Sheffield's Vic McGlynn that without the early intervention of fire crews, the building would have been destroyed.
