Philippines grows despite disaster

Just over half a year since experiencing one of the world's worst ever typhoons, the Philippines' economy continues to grow at a fast pace.

Taken together, growth rates in 2012 and 2013 are the fastest since the 1950s. How can this be when the country was struck by a devastating natural disaster so recently?
