India election: The machines counting 800 million votes

India's elections are under way, with 814 million people eligible to vote over five weeks.

There are about 930,000 polling stations across the country and when people go to cast their vote, they will use one of 1.4 million electronic voting machines which are made in Hyderabad and Bangalore.

Shilpa Kannan demonstrates how these machines work.
