Crowdfunding user backs FCA regulation

A cake maker who used crowdfunding to expand her business has backed new peer lending regulations.

Viv Parry of Exquisite Handmade Cakes used a peer lending site to raise money for a cake portioning machine.

She told BBC Radio 5 live's Victoria Derbyshire: "It's a higher return but you're taking a greater risk. So long as that information is displayed I think that's fine."

Crowd-funding and peer-to-peer lending platforms will face regulation by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) from April.
