Financial services firm Legal and General plans to place "greater focus" on developing UK infrastructure outside of London, its chief executive Nigel Wilson has said.

Mr Wilson told Radio 4's Today programme that cities such as Newcastle, Leeds and Manchester need "stronger linkages", which his firm hopes to support.

Legal and General have reported a 10% growth in profits over 2013, amounting to £1.13bn.

First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Wednesday 5 March.
