The British Bankers' Association (BBA) has launched a campaign to increase businesses' confidence in borrowing.
The BBA claims that approval rates for loans are much higher than many small and medium sized enterprises believe.
Irene Graham from the BBA told BBC Radio 5 live's Adam Parsons: "We want to drive that confidence into businesses to come forward."
Phil Orford from the Forum for Private Business welcomed the campaign, saying: "This is raising awareness that the banks... are open for business."
