Could Mario go mobile to boost Nintendo profits?

Shares of Japan's Nintendo plunged as much as 18% on Monday after the gaming giant issued a profits warning.

Speaking to the BBC, technology analyst Spencer Izard said that Nintendo needed to work out a software strategy on smartphones and tablets.

"I don't think they can avoid this market any longer", he said.
