Global concerns over food prices

We all enjoy a good meal out, so it is no wonder that food is big business, but rising prices are again a growing concern.

Global food prices rose for the first time last month after falling for nearly half a year.

The United Nations predicts that they will continue to rise in the coming decade eclipsing the price hikes of 2008 - which triggered riots across the developing world.

Internationally, the food business generates over $4 trillion, or nearly 5%, of global gross domestic product (GDP) each year.

Growth of the middle classes in developing countries is driving some of this - but how will that impact on everyone else?

Our Chief Business Correspondent, Linda Yueh, went to one of Singapore's famous hawker centres to find out.
