Twitter shares soar on market debut

It's been a keenly anticipated stock market flotation and today the social media company Twitter exceeded expectations.

Its shares opened at over $45 on the New York Stock Exchange, almost double what they had been originally valued at.

That makes it the biggest market debut for a technology firm since Facebook went public in May last year.
