Malaysia's 2014 budget: View from Kuala Lumpur market

Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak has announced plans to impose a 6% goods and services tax by April 2015.

The government needs to cut its large fiscal deficit.

However, a consumption tax would be unpopular on the streets of Kuala Lumpur, as Jennifer Pak reports.
