China's growing middle class on their biggest brands

The importance of the Chinese consumer has never been greater.

With European and North American consumers feeling the pinch, the millions of new customers in China hungry to shop represent a massive opportunity for global brands.

As part of our season about the new middle class around the world, the BBC asked the brand research company Millward Brown to use the thousands of interviews it has already carried out with Chinese consumers to come up with the country's top 20 foreign brands.
