UK retail sales figures fall by 0.6%
UK retail sales fell 0.6% in January, hurt by high levels of snowfall, and confounding economists' expectations for a rise.
Volumes fell 0.6% on December 2012, hurt by high levels of snowfall, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said.
Kate Davies from the ONS highlighted weak sales in the food sector, which dropped 2.6% year-on year.
