With Barack Obama's second inauguration taking place on Monday, what can US households and firms expect from his second term?

As chief executive of US inc, he faces a tough four years - the economy is growing and firms are starting to hire again but the recovery is still fragile.

The US government is trillions of dollars in debt and faces a budget crisis unless politicians can agree on spending cuts or a rise in borrowing.
