Asian demand helps Europe's designer fashion industry
Haute couture is the most expensive of designer wear. Often costing tens of thousands of dollars, the clothes require weeks of work.
As the global economy slowed, demand has tumbled. But Asia is proving to be a growth market and Singapore has just hosted Women's Fashion Week and French Couture Week 2012.
Asia Business Report's Sharanjit Leyl spoke to Suzy Menkes, one of the most authoritative voices in the fashion industry and the International Herald Tribune's fashion editor about how she sees growth in Asia helping Europe's fashion industry.
