Obama in 'fiscal cliff' deadlock talks as concern grows

President Obama will meet with Congressional leaders on Friday for the first time since the election, to try and break the deadlock over next year's budget.

Current tax cuts and government spending plans will expire on 31 December, taking $600bn out of the economy unless an agreement is reached.

The uncertainty over the so-called fiscal cliff is taking its toll on many US businesses.
