Comet closure draws bargain hunters

Help

Comet stores across the UK have been trading as normal today, despite the financial crisis at the electrical chain.

Administrators say all of Comet's 236 shops have been open, staff are being paid, and the company will do all it can to meet outstanding orders.

Some stores have been busier than usual with bargain-hunters hoping to pick-up reduced-price stock, but customers holding gift vouchers are still unable to use them.

Theo Leggett has spent the day outside a Comet store in West London.
