Facebook is due to report its third-quarter earnings results, the second as a public company.

In May, its chief executive, Mark Zuckerberg, listed his social networking company on the stock market. Since then shares in Facebook have dropped about 50%.

Investors will be hoping that the company, which now has more than 1bn users, has made some progress in boosting revenue.
