China's yuan reaches new highs against US dollar

China's currency, the yuan, has jumped in value against the US dollar over the past week.

The yuan has been trading at around two decade highs against the US dollar, and is up almost 0.5% so far this year.

But with pressing economic issues at home, what happens next could well depend on China's third quarter growth figures due out on Thursday.
