IMF's Lagarde calls for more clarity over Eurozone integration

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) head, Christine Lagarde, has said that leaders in the Euro area need to indicate "at which pace they are going to move towards banking and fiscal union".

Speaking in a BBC debate in Tokyo, she said there was a need for certainty about what would happen over the next ten years.

Earlier this week Ms Lagarde said that uncertainty surrounding the global economy was hampering policymakers' ability to take measures to boost growth.

The full debate can be seen on BBC World on Saturday 13 October.
