France unveils 2013 budget

France has unveiled its 2013 budget, in an attempt to try and plug a €30bn ($40bn) hole in its public finances.

Wealthy individuals and large companies will bear the brunt of the tax rises.

Smaller firms will be spared some of the increases, but many in business complain it is still too expensive to take new workers on.

French Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault has said that nine out of 10 citizens will not see their income taxes rise in the new budget.
