Tariffs 'would hit China solar firms'

The Chinese solar panel industry is under investigation by the European Union.

The move came after European manufacturers alleged that Chinese companies have been selling panels below market value.

If the Chinese companies are found guilty - they may face anti-dumping tariffs on exports of their panels.

Martin Adams, energy editor at the Economist Intelligence Unit, told the BBC that, if high tariffs are imposed, it would have serious consequences for Chinese solar panel manufacturers.
