CNOOC's $15bn bid for Canada's Nexen 'will go through'
China's state oil company CNOOC $15.1bn (£9.6bn) offer to buy Canada's Nexen is the biggest foreign acquisition to date by a Chinese company.
The BBC's Rico Hizon spoke to Thomas Hilboldt, regional head of oil and gas research, for HSBC in Hong Kong, who says the odds are in favour of CNOOC.
