Thailand's economy outpaces forecasts in second quarter
Thailand's economy grew strongly in the second quarter, expanding 3.3% from the previous three months, as the country continued to recover from devastating floods in 2011.
Thailand's growth outpaced most forecasts, which had estimated that South East Asia's second-largest economy would grow by 1.7% in April-June.
Before the figures were released, the BBC's Rico Hizon spoke to Philip Wee, a senior currency economist with DBS bank in Singapore, and asked for his outlook on the Thai economy.
