Royal Mail eager to extend 'neighbour drop-offs'

17 August 2012 Last updated at 13:09 BST

Royal Mail is planning to introduce a nationwide scheme so that if no one is at home to receive parcels, they can be left with a neighbour.

It will start from the end of September if regulator Ofcom gives the go-ahead.

People would need to opt-out if they did not want it to happen.

5 liveBreakfast asked Barbara Roulston from the Royal Mail why they were introducing the new measure.
