The number of people out of work fell by 46,000 to 2.56 million in the three months to June, according to the Office for National Statistics.
Much of the focus has been on youth unemployment but older people are also suffering the effects of the recession, with many made redundant and others experiencing long term unemployment.

She said being 60 goes against her but she wants to work and is willng to retrain.
