How did the US react to Tim Geithner's ECB visit?
Speculation that the European Central Bank could restart its bond buying programme has followed hard on the heels of a meeting between US Treasury Secretary, Tim Geithner and the German finance minister in Berlin.
In a joint statement the two politicians emphasised "the need for ongoing international co-operation and coordination to achieve sustainable public finances, reduce global macroeconomic imbalances, and restore growth".
