Philippines economy growing fast

Help

The Philippines is having a good year so far.

First-quarter growth was among the fastest in the region, the stock market is up 20%, and investors are hailing a turnaround in a country that's long lagged behind its neighbours.

On Thursday, the central bank will meet to decide whether to cut borrowing costs and stoke further growth.

The BBC's Kate McGeown reports from Manila on what has been driving this growth.
